Had it not been for seeing this color combo successfully executed by Wendy, I wouldn’t have tried it myself.
I don’t typically find myself inspired by an outfit so literally, but as you can see I have mimicked her look nearly from head to toe. Surprisingly, I think the pink shirt and red Mary Janes compliment each other well.
Let me take a moment to sing the praises of Brooks Brothers’ “no iron” shirts. I have several of these, and they are truly wrinkle-free. Straight out of the dryer, no hassle – the shirt looks like it has been steam pressed. Perfect for travel, and for every day. Most of my collection are sleeveless like I’m wearing today. I usually don’t wear them in the summer, I save them for layering under sweaters and jackets in fall and winter. You get that nice, crisp collar without the extra bulk and fuss of a second layer on your arms.
In fact, I think that I will make a point of wearing this pink shirt under a red sweater once the temperature drops. Now I know I can pull it off!
